Hi everybody! I’m Hunter. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have enjoyed reading through my blog, recipes, and adventures in cooking as well as finding healthy meals.
All of the recipes you’ll find on this blog are “family approved” – sister, dad, nephew (5 years old), boyfriend, friends – so even though they are for the most part healthy, everybody will like them.
More About Me
I am 20 years old college student who grew up in New York. Now I dream of eating gourmet dinners and drinking good coffee. As a young girl I was exposed to fine foods, my Grandma’s cooking, Mom’s love of food, and restaurants. I also had the pleasure of living in Napa Valley, CA for 2 years where my love of food only grew. The food in Napa is truly unbelievable. This is partly because many of the restaurant chefs come from the Culinary Institute which is located in St. Helena, a great place to visit and try some food. Napa is all about fresh and local food, often farm to table, that is meant to inspire people. This is where I learned to love what food has to offer.
As a child I was pretty over weight, but the thing is, I had no idea! My mom never told me that I was fat or to watch what I should eat. Often times I would eat more then I should shoveling down 4 donuts at a time. Eventually, I grew out of this phase when I got taller and wiser and the weight just came off. My mom was also a life coach centered in New York City who helped people lose weight and break bad habits through hypnosis. She never pushed anything she taught on to me and I naturally became interested in a healthy life style on my own.
About 1 1/2 years ago I had just started college and I wanted to find a part time job while I was in school. I had so much trouble finding one around my school. Probably because I was picky, I didn’t really want to work in a Supermarket as a cashier (been there, done that).
So one day my Dad suggested I look in the Penny Saver, I hadn’t done that yet so I figured what do I have to lose? This is where I found my job at Curves. Curves is a 30 minute exercise and weight loss facility for women. I was hesitant at first, but now I am a Certified Curves Complete coach where I have been helping women to lose weight and be happy by adopting healthier lifestyle choices.
During my coaching sessions with the women I found myself telling them foods I loved to cook that were healthy and easy. This is when I decided to make a blog where I can share the food that I love to cook and eat. Some of the recipes you will find will be Curves Complete Approved and others are not.
Today you will find me in college (besides summers), cooking, going to the beach with my boyfriend of 4 years (Ryan), taking pictures, farmers markets, hiking, and exploring new foods. Ryan and I love to cook together. We both love good food. Many of the things we make are during our free time together. We want to eat a good meal without paying a lot of money. We, like everyone else are on a budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat well. I promise you, it can be fun as well as healthy.
